Things change. Times pass. But that doesn't mean you have to accept it
When Mary's Candy in Lewiston closed its doors a couple of years ago, it was the pits. I was unable to buy chocolate covered cherries to send to my elderly aunt as I had for the last 20 years.
I started experimenting in my Lewiston kitchen. It was a good day (for my customers and me) when I developed my own chocolate covered cherry ....... taking a big fat cherry, wrapping it in my secret confection and dipping it a bath of your choice of dark or milk chocolate.
The requests for my candy came in - Ellas Candy was born. Unable to stop there I went on to create a soft homemade caramel encased in a thick semi-sweet chocolate, a creamy peanut butter ball dipped in chocolate with a surprise in the middle and more.
To ensure freshness Ella's chocolates are made to order, every day, each one by me. Keep me in mind for parties, showers, any type of get-together, special events or for anybody who loves candy. For local events I also offer three tiered trays set up with chocolates.
Shortly after beginning my business venture, I went to Vermont to visit a family of new in-laws. I knew I had hit on something big as I watched a couple of women take bites of my chocolates, bend slightly at the knees, say mmmm and arrive at "The Land of Delicious."
